Count down to a family picnic while learning how a calendar works. This upbeat song reinforces the repeating order of the weekdays, seven days in a week, twelve months in a year, different month lengths, and how a date identifies a day, month, and year.

Song lyrics
Na kiedy wypada rodzinny piknik? Na dalszej kartce jest dzień pikniku. Rysuję w kratce kolorową gwiazdkę. Data podaje dzień, miesiąc i rok. Wracam na bieżącą kartkę. Palec po kratkach rusza ku gwiazdce. Siedem dni — to cały tydzień. Potem idą znów w tej samej kolejności. Piknik z każdą kratką jest coraz bliżej. Dni układają się w tygodnie i miesiące. Poniedziałek, wtorek, środa, czwartek. Piątek, sobota, potem niedziela. Siedem kratek pokazuje tydzień. Po niedzieli wraca poniedziałek. Co wieczór skreślam kratkę minionego dnia. Siedem dni — to cały tydzień. Potem idą znów w tej samej kolejności. Piknik z każdą kratką jest coraz bliżej. Dni układają się w tygodnie i miesiące. Mija miesiąc — odwracam kartkę. Na nowej dni jest mniej albo więcej. Dwanaście miesięcy po kolei — cały rok. Siedem dni — to cały tydzień. Potem idą znów w tej samej kolejności. Piknik z każdą kratką jest coraz bliżej. Dni układają się w tygodnie i miesiące. Palec dotarł do gwiazdki — piknik dzisiaj! Podaję datę: dzień, miesiąc i rok.
Language version lyrics
When will our family picnic be? On a later page, I find its square. I draw a colored star around that day. This date names the day, month, and year. Back on today's page, my finger moves. Square after square, it heads toward the star. Seven days make one whole week. Then the same order starts again. Every square brings our picnic near. Days line up in weeks and months. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Friday, Saturday, then Sunday. Seven boxes show one whole week. After Sunday, Monday comes again. Each night I cross off the day that's passed. Seven days make one whole week. Then the same order starts again. Every square brings our picnic near. Days line up in weeks and months. After some weeks, the month comes to an end. The new page has more days, or fewer. Twelve ordered months make one whole year. Seven days make one whole week. Then the same order starts again. Every square brings our picnic near. Days line up in weeks and months. My finger finds the star—picnic today! I say the date: day, month, and year.
