Invisible Air Pressure | Atmospheric Pressure Song for Kids

◷ 2:42

Can invisible air help hold up water? This upbeat science song shows how the atmosphere surrounds Earth and how atmospheric pressure acts from every direction. Children discover how pressure differences and gravity affect a card-covered cup. Try the demonstration only with an adult, over a bowl, using an unbreakable cup when possible.

Song lyrics
Na pikniku: co zatrzyma wodę? Atmosfera to powietrze wokół Ziemi. Z dorosłym napełniam kubek z plastiku. Sztywna kartka szczelnie zakrywa otwór. Nad miską odwracam kubek do góry dnem. Puszczam kartkę — wciąż tkwi pod kubkiem. Grawitacja ciągnie, woda nie wypływa. Powietrze naciska ze wszystkich stron. Od dołu, z boków, również z góry. To ciśnienie atmosferyczne. Nie widać go — kartka zdradza nacisk. Z zewnątrz powietrze pcha kartkę w górę. W szczelnym kubku ciśnienie jest niższe. Większy nacisk pomaga ją podtrzymać. Choć grawitacja ciągnie wodę w dół. Różnica ciśnień rozwiązuje zagadkę. Powietrze naciska ze wszystkich stron. Od dołu, z boków, również z góry. To ciśnienie atmosferyczne. Nie widać go — kartka zdradza nacisk. Uchylam brzeg, powietrze wpada do środka. Różnica ciśnień staje się mniejsza. Spada kartka, woda pluska do miski. Powietrze naciska ze wszystkich stron. Od dołu, z boków, również z góry. To ciśnienie atmosferyczne. Nie widać go — kartka zdradza nacisk. Niewidzialne powietrze naciska zewsząd.
Language version lyrics
At our picnic, what can hold the water? The atmosphere is air around the Earth. With an adult, I fill a plastic cup. A stiff card seals the opening tight. I flip it over above the bowl. I let go; the card stays beneath the cup. Gravity pulls; the water doesn't spill. Air presses in from every side. From below, from the sides, from above. That's atmospheric pressure. Though unseen, the card reveals its push. Outside air pushes the card upward. Inside the sealed cup, pressure is lower. The stronger outside push helps hold it there. Gravity still pulls the water down. The pressure difference solves the riddle. Air presses in from every side. From below, from the sides, from above. That's atmospheric pressure. Though unseen, the card reveals its push. I lift one edge; air enters the cup. The pressure difference becomes smaller. Card and water splash into the bowl. Air presses in from every side. From below, from the sides, from above. That's atmospheric pressure. Though unseen, the card reveals its push. Invisible air presses all around.

Push Harder, Change Motion! | Newton’s Second Law Song for Kids

This upbeat children’s song uses a toy cart to show how force and mass affect acceleration. Kids discover why a stronger net force changes motion faster at the same mass, while added mass produces less acceleration under the same force. It also introduces the simple relationship F = ma.
